SOFTBALL: Trigg plays in Marshall County tournament

Trigg County Middle School’s softball team went 1-2-1 during last weekend’s Marshall County Slugfest.

Trigg opened play Friday with a 4-4 tie against Marshall County. Hannah Colbert pitched and had four strikeouts. Trigg then lost against Murray. Logan Darnall pitched two innings, and Colbert entered in the third inning and finished with seven strikeouts.

On Saturday, Trigg defeated Marshall 7-5. Kara Southwood pitched and got help from her defense, including a diving catch leading to a double play by Autumn Durham.

Trigg then lost 4-3 to Henderson County after leading 3-1.
