Magistrates on the Trigg County Fiscal Court, at their Monday evening meeting, voted 6 – 0 to leave the rates the same as last year, after a motion by District Two Magistrate Barry Littlejohn and a second by District Five Magistrate Richard Nelson. District Six Magistrate Larry Lawrence was absent for health reasons.
Trigg County Judge Executive Hollis Alexander said that recommendation came after speaking with the county’s Budget Committee, and after looking at the new property assessments.
“I feel like the court’s been very fiscally responsible, and they’ve operated well within the means for the past year,” Alexander said. “The court’s done a good job in doing due diligence to this county. We’ve expanded equipment, we’ve renovated buildings and still stayed inside those means.”
