Trigg County High School’s boys soccer team had no trouble topping Fort Campbell 6-1 in Monday’s 2014 season-opener.

The Wildcats took the lead 15 minutes into the game when Troy Alexander’s shot was deflected to Andy Llarena, who put it in the net. Kyle Bleidt slipped a sharp-angle shot past Fort Campbell’s goalkeeper nine minutes later, and Ean Sholar scored in the 32nd minute to give Trigg a 3-0 halftime lead.

Sholar added another goal in the second half, and Zeb DeHart scored the other two. Llarena and Alexander each had assists in the game.

Trigg goalkeeper Austin Calhoun allowed one goal on seven shots.

Trigg tied Fort Campbell 2-2 in the junior varsity game. Micah Lewis and Caleb Lynch scored the Wildcat goals.
