Fraternalist of the Year is the highest honor a volunteer can receive from Woodmen of the World, and is given to the person who made the greatest contribution to his or her chapter and community during the previous calendar year.
One winner is selected each year from Woodmen’s 29 regions. An independent panel of judges selected Caldwell out of nominees from west Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana.
Caldwell has been a member of Woodmen of the World Chapter 20 of Cadiz for 53 years and currently serves as chapter president. Among her service projects in 2013, Caldwell collected food for low-income children, oversaw the chapter’s local Flag Day ceremony and organized outreach activities for shut-ins and nursing home residents.
