Funeral services for Mr. George Ed Terrell, 93, of Louisville, a native of Cadiz, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Lawrence Cemetery in Cadiz. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Terrell passed away on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Saints Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville.

He was born on May 10, 1921, in the Blue Spring Community of Trigg County to Bob and Emma Bridges Terrell. He was one of nine children, Marie Eldo having died at birth.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States of America’s Mighty 8th Air Force- 446th Bomb Group, (see Trigg County Veteran’s History Book for details). He was a 50-plus-year member of Valley Station Baptist Church. He was a current member of New Salem Baptist Church in Louisville. He was a retired staff member of the University of Louisville School of Engineering, a member of the Masonic Grand Lodge No. 82, F&AM of KY, a member of the Scottish Rite-32nd degree, a Kosair Shriner and a member of the Noble Order of the Kentucky Colonels.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his lovely and devoted wife of 60 years, Gladys Opal (Gray) Terrell on Aug. 14, 2001; six sisters, Cicero Terrell Mitchell, Sarah Terrell Stallons, Myra Terrell Stallons, Martha Terrell Braboy, Irene Terrell Bridges and Annalene Terrell Braboy; and one brother, Robert J. Terrell.

Mr. Terrell is survived by four children, Sharron K. McConnell (and husband Clifford W.) of Louisville, Michael E. Terrell (Catherine Beahm) of Louisville, Stephen G. Terrell (and wife Patricia J.) of Lexington and Ronald K. Terrell (Katrina) of Mt. Washington; grandchildren Clifford T. McConnell (Deborah), Ashley P. French (Joseph), Phillip B. Terrell (Sarah), Erin G. Terrell (Andrew Broxson); great-grandchildren, twins Helena Gray and Sara Rose, Joshua Edward and Emma Caroline Terrell, Stacie Stephens (Kelly), Tray Trew (David); and great-great-grandchildren Kyle and Kolby Stephens, and Ava and Mya Trew.
