GOLF: Trigg golfers eighth at Ballard tournament

Trigg County’s boys golf team shot 325 Saturday in tournament play at Ballard County Country Club.

Trigg finished eighth out of 15 teams at the event, 34 strokes behind winner McCracken County.

Carter Sholar led with an 18-hole score of 74, followed by Jackson Vinson (77), Gabe Nolcox (86), Jake Price (88) and Grayson Ford (92).

Thursday, Trigg hosted Christian County and University Heights Academy at Arrowhead Golf Course. Trigg and Christian tied with team scores of 159, topping UHA’s 219.

Price led Trigg and was medalist with a nine-hole score of 36. Sholar and Vinson each shot 40, followed by Nolcox (43), Matthew Skinner (45), Ford (49) and Will Allen (49).
